Someone should make a Half Life 2 MOD, based on what we know to be true about half life 2. And we could play the MOD until the real thing is out.

At least, 1 Level thats as close to HL2 as we can get, minus a million features. But still....

there's a logic error in your code

If you design a half-life 2 mod to be played in place of half-life 2 while you wait, you will still have to wait until half-life 2 comes out to play the mod! Anyways, what fun would a Half-Life 2 MOD be if it wasn't played on the delicious Source engine?

I'm pretty sure he meant to say that someone should make a mod for a different engine, like HL1 or Unreal, that emulates what we already know about the story of HL2. It would be a huge amount of work and probably wouldn't even be finished before HL2s release. Besides, someone would probably hack into the source code anyways :-P

I better close this. It really isnt a productive topic for discussion, and definetly not thought out, it will take years to make any serious mod. And I havent closed a thread in like AGES, my fingers are really twitching

There is already a "HL2 mod" for HL1 though, with the tech demo level
