A good case.

Basically i am after a case that:

-Is absolutley no frills, i do not care or need windows, lights, LED displays etc etc, whilst i don't need it to be showy i don't want it to look hideous however.
Just a nice 'black monolith from space oddysey 2001' type case would be nice.
-Is a large server type case, can fit all the largest bits in but not a massive server case.
-Is very durable and solid, metal...no plasticy easy to break parts, reliability is absolute key to my build.
-Weight is no issue at all, i wont be moving it, in fact i'd like a very heavy case to dampen vibration and noise.
-Noise reduction is fairly important but not vital as i am running an external watercooling system, just need a case that wont resonate any vibration from the HD's/dvd, it actually must be solid enough to avoid resnoating and vibrating due to a large sound system in the room which is a soundproofed room, therefore any objects within with surfaces vibrate, a tinny thin case would vibrate and possibly damage parts, i do not want this occuring.

It very much needs to be a 'no nonsense supercomputer' type case.

In the past i have always used antec server type cases, these are great just wondering if ther is anything better? i have seen some beasty lian li cases for example but have no experience of these.

There seem to be a majority of aluminium cases these days, a few years back there was very few.
Was the reason for this just due to the lightweight nature of construction? i would have thought they were slightly weaker?

Sounds pretty good, an at 242 quid it'd better be!

cooling and weight ..especially in a performance case ..the silverstones cases are all aluminum, beware some cases that just have the front bezel aluminum with metal sides

Thats probably the next one Im going to get. I was also thinking about getting the Silverstone TJ07, which is the one Stern pointed out. But I like the look of the coolermaster one better, and I like the placement of the usb ports more. Plus its a tad cheaper. However, it does have a metal mesh on one side which may be a noise problem.

I want to like the cosmos but for some reason I cant get over how much it looks like a refrigerator
