hey, well after having my 1.3ghz dell 8100 for almost 3 years, i feel its time to get a new computer.

ive looked at companies like abs, voodoo, hypersonic, ibuypower and such but they dont have certain options to get rid of (like on hypersonics website, you have to have an optical drive and i just want to use my old one from my current computer) so if anyone knows any reliable companies with the ability to choose everything you want and dont want, could u please post them, thanks.

The only way to have complete custimizobility is to build your own. You have 100% control over everything. Ibuypower and cyberpower, etc. those are as customizable as you get.

Building your own is not hard. It may seem it, but it is really quite easy. If you need help contact me or sideX.

1500 you can make a great computer if you build it yourself. Id buy all the parts from newegg.com :)

yup building your own is a bit like having sex for the first time, your highly nervous and think your gunna screw up, but hey when you get the hang if it its easy as ***.

my 0.02$

Since you probably already have a good case, fans, cd rom drive, floppy, etc you could just build your own and use all your old parts. I am in the process of building a new system the same way (hopefully completed by tuesday). I would recommend buying your parts NEW on eBay. I've saved about $300 by buying my graphics card, cpu, and mobo on eBay. I've spent $991 on this system: P4 2.8ghz (w/ H.T. support) 800mhz fsb, 800mhz fsb mobo with dual channel ram and 8X AGP pipline, H.T. support (Intel D875PBZ), Radeon 9800 pro 256mb DDR-II, 1 gig (2X512mb) PC3200/DDR400 Kingston Hyper X Ram. I'll be formatting one of the two drives in my current computer and than transfering everything over. It'll run hl2 GREAT and I'm pumped to get it up and running.

If you're not comfortable building your own just give me an idea what you're looking for and I'll let you know if I can come up with anything. (I quasi work at a computer shop over here in Washington)

Edit: I know I can come up with something for less than that, it's just a question of what you need and want. AMD? Intel? etc. I just priced out some systems earlier and they ranged from 600 to 1600. If you like I can tell you what those were tomorrow.

thank you very much noodly but since ive gotten my 9500 to work, i feel i can stick hl2 out with my current comp, plus, i dont have the money right now =/, but in the future, if i need a comp, ill consult u, thanks again
