... if you're an exec.

On the same day an Austin high-tech company announced layoffs it also boosted the pay of its executives.

According to an SEC filing, Spansion's board of directors agreed to reinstate full salaries for all executive officers. Since October they had been making 10 percent less.

The chip maker announced it was cutting 35 percent of its workforce Monday -- 1,200 people worked in the Austin facility.

Those who were cut say they were not offered a severance.

If you read the comments, even the method of lay offs was shameful.

Let us all join hands in hate.

Comments to what? This is a comment I guess but I can't tell you how they were laid off.

Oh yeah, forgot the link. This is my first thread, maybe?

I'll just go ahead and quote this one from a second similar article...

I wife was laid off, and they didn't even have they audacity to call or page her. They did it via mail, with a return envelope to send in her badge & pager... She worked in manufacturing, and was told just Sunday, that she was to report for her shift on Wednesday March 4th, then 2 days later the letter came in the mail. I hope the Human Resource Director receives the same inhuman treatment.

It's not really a surprise. The people at the top always look out for themselves they don't care about anyone else. This whole problem was caused by people like them and still they continue to make it far worse.
