Ive reaaalllyyy grown out of touch with flight simulators over the years. Whats a good navy one? IE One where you fly off aircraft carriers.

Go search on game sites.

Wow...very helpful.

That's like saying, "What's a good book I should read?" "Check the library".

I've been looking for a good flight sim lately too, maybe a helicopter sim. The genre seems to be dying :(

yeah.. me too. good flight sims are hard to come by.
Gh0st, maybe LOMAC? you dont get aircraft carriers (I dont think) but its the most technical combat flight sim out there... realistic avionics etc.. I got it when I was trying to find one, but the learning curve is too high for my interests.
I just want something really fast with lots of eyecandy :D

L.O.M.A.C for more recent aircraft...1980's and such. It's made by the same people as Pacific Fighters. There's carrier missions for the SU-33 but that's it. It's really complicated and has lots of keyboard commands to memorize...you'll love it if you're a big flight sim guy...or well, were, are, becoming...I don't know..It's late, I'm tired and I'm beginning to ramble so I'm going to stop this post now...

Janes fleet or something like that are also good navel sims.

IMO, IL2 Sturmovik is still very good, and simply very fun. Still very pretty too.

I have the 2nd IL-2, and it's one of the best flying sims out there. Pacific Fighters is the next in that series, right? If so i'd get that.

I had a good one called Evasive Action on my old 486, graphics werent up to much but the gameplay was awesome... could take off / land on aircraft carriers / then go dogfight the russian MIGs...

I think F22 Raptor is better in terms of graphics, not very realistic though. Isn't a new M$ simulator out soon? If there is one, there'll no doubt be a combat game released at the same time based on the same engine.

Lock On: Modern Air Combat will be getting 2 updates this year, the first being the Su-25T, the other will add the Ka50 helicopter as flyable aircraft. There will also be news about it's sequel as well in the next few months or so.

LOMAC is hard as hell, I can fly around but I try its hard as hell to get a lock on somebody and kill them. I had to fly around with guns :(.

BTW razor, your post count is 1337. Nice.

My post count is always 1337 :D.

Lock On was easy once you know what you're doing and understand the principles behind the workings of the radar/eos systems.

Pacific Fighters owns in WWII Pacific flight games. Also try X-plane 8. Not the best grahics ever, but the flight model and realism is unbeatable. Flight Sim 2004 has better graphics and I play it more because of the vintage aircraft.

I saw someone mention a helicopter sim. Are there any out there? I'd love a good helicopter sim. I'd even take one that didn't have combat if I had to. I tried Apache Longbow I think it was called. LOL, it was a joke.

I like to jack up the realism in Microsoft's newest Flight Sim and use those helicopters. It just gets boring after a while flying around and doing nothing. We need a good combat helicopter sim, that is at least close to realistic.
