Not only might I might be reading too much into this but what's worse, I might even be talking out of my ass regarding what appears to be an attempt to steal my beloved Steam account. You be the judge.

hmmmm what is that? Had you messaged him before asking about spyware advice or something like that?

What, is methlabs a hacker site or something? I tried checking google, doesn't sound like they have a bad reputation.

I don't see any indication that your steam account was at risk?:rolling:

Can you explain in full, right from the beginning exactly why you believe that forum member has attempted to hijack your Steam account?

For the time being, please make sure that you change your Steam account password to something really strong including capital letters, lower cased letters and numbers.

His psychologist says he's paranoid. But he just thinks he's after him.

Uhh.. all he's doing is directing you to the Peer Guardian site, which is a program that blocks RIAA/MPAA/government/etc IP addresses from connecting to your computer.

LOL, its just peer guardian..

Just like diluted said.. lol has nothing to do with stealing anything...... or anything related to steam.. btw, i have Peer guardian..

PeerGuardian is an extra line of defense along with your firewall. As previously stated, it blocks the feds, RIAA, Hollywood, etc. from connecting to your computer and possibly busting you. I find it a handy tool. Not that I would need to use it.

;)

Yeah...i'm gonna download this too...test it for the thread maker. Btw wikipedia says it sucks at blocking all that stuff. Is that true? or just a deterant?

Nope, it blocks them. Pretty controversial, I might add. I had EA and Hollywood trying to get in once. Remember to be sure to unblock X-Fire and Steam and such. They are sometimes blocked. It works just like a firewall.

Lets just say it 'helps', if you set it up right.

Its easier just to be internet-clean.

What the **** am I talking about, such a thing doesn't exist anymore.

In reference to http://www.halflife2.net/forums/showthread.php?t=86606 I was simply backing up your statement pointing out peer gaurdian found a [restricted website/rw] spyware related company IP which if the IP is traced is found to be a content distributer with the main officies located in Arizona use for music, games, etc, most likely containing some of valve's content centers making my post void and a banned account for advertising privately, as I am not the one making the link public.

I'd stay and chat but I don't have time for this shit.

#1. a guy who has just 1 post is not a forum member.

#2. Stop trying to lower the reputation of this wonderful republic, treasonous imbecile.

I'll be an imbecile, but you'll always be an idiot. Read this:

idiot: an offensive term in a now disused classification system for somebody with an IQ of about 25 or under and a mental age of less than three years
imbecile: an offensive term in an absolute classification system for an IQ between 25 and 50 and a mental age of between two and seven years

I win.

My god, man, you need to take off that tin foil hat. Peer guardian is completely safe, along with methlabs.com.

I don't like anyone who tries to be an ass and has less than 100 posts. You need to at least understand the forum theme before diving in the deep end.
