Saw this last night - cape buffalo FTW! I've seen them search out and destroy lion dens. Chased the lionesses out, dug up the stump, smashed the kittens, and moved on. It's a neat defensive strategy for an herbivore to simply be tougher than the local predators. I've also seen them deal with hyena packs, which is no joke either.
was the only one just waiting for the buffalos to push the lions into the water and the crocs eating them? lol... the lions definitly walked away as loosers in this instance....I wonder if that calf is going to survive its wounds though...
oh and poor calf btw...being pulled by lions from one side and crocs from the other...that must have been a sucky experience.
That he was being tugged on by lions one way and crocodiles the other.
But yeah, I guess he was lucky. I thought he was a goner for sure.
There should be a buffalo lion crocodile version of rock paper scissors. Lions beats crocodiles in tug of war, buffalo stampede the shit out of lions, and crocodiles eat buffalo.
