A.I. Disabled !!

Hi, everyone

I'm new to HL2, it's a superb game, the best ever,
I'm currently playing the 4th chapter Water Hazard.
Since then, I'm receiving the message "A.I. Disabled" on the screen, this meaning all the enemies are frozen, nothing happens, therefore I can't be able to go forward in the game. Tried to delete .cfg files several times unsuccessfully, no way.
Have I did anything wrong? I don't have have a clue how
these things occur. Any help from the experts will be
most appreciated. My thanks in advance.

Open the console (Click Options > Keyboard > Advanced... > Enable Developer Console) and type in ai_disable 0 and see what happens.
