HOMER-SIMPSON-INVITATION.jpg

When Will and Kate's trip to Los Angeles was announced, the folks behind "The Simpsons" decided to extend the couple a royal invitation of their own. Not only that, they had the king of Springfield himself pen the missive. Unfortunately, the two are so busy with higher-end appointments they respectfully declined.

Wow, all respect for them lost (not that I had much to begin with). Rock on, Homer Simpson - that letter was hilarious, haha.

They're still making new episodes of The Simpsons?

Wow... who cares? It's retarded and homer would never write like that.

You know this because of your long standing mail correspondence with cartoon character Homer J. Simpson.

...and hey, you cared enough to post.

I DONT CARE THAT RAZIAAR DOESNT CARE AND HE PROBABLY DOESNT CARE ABOUT THIS.

however i found that letter amusing

'eh. I liked Homer better when he was pretty much mentally retarded.

When you watch the Simpsons enough, you realise that he's always just as smart or dumb as that particular moment in the story requires. It's actually kind of jarring sometimes.

Yeah I used to watch the repeats way too much.

simpsons should've died in 2001-2002 that was when the decline started. Now it's just a saturated mess, a cross between a wannabe family guy and lame shit like this about celebrities trying desperately to appeal to younger audiences.

Matt Groening, you're a failure.

or because of everyones correspondence with the cartoon character homer j. simpson after 20+ years of him being on television across the world. for me, that's a lifetime spent watching the simpsons every night at 6pm, so it's safe to say we're quite familiar with his persona by now. hell, we've seen him write letters before. am i looking too far into this? maybe, hell probably, but i think raziaar's point is well made.

the letter doesn't read like anything homer would say at all, or perhaps i'm far too bias for simpsons seasons 4 through to 7 to even know what the hell is going on with the springfield unversie anymore.

lol at "homer wouldnt write that way" homer wouldnt invite the royals to record lines for an episode he's starring in because that would break the 4th wall into meta territory which would be difficult to do because he's a cartoon character

...surprised I even have to point that out

Stern's right, it's completely preposterous! While we're at it, he's actually just a series of drawings filmed in quick succession and overdubbed by a voice which belongs to a human person who does not share the character's persona. Also this was probably written by Matt Groening or some other staff member since it would be physically impossible for "Homer" to do so himself.

I mean I'm surprised I even have to point that out.

People actually care about the way Homer Simpson would theoretically write if he existed?

It's not like the Simpsons hasn't broken the forth wall before on numerous occasions.

..on tv ..not in real life because that would be un-possible

Homer is beloved. Why wouldn't the fans?

Pretty much this.

Thank you Stern.

If we are ever to advance as a race, shit like this just shouldn't matter.

These are probably the same type of kiss ass letters they send to celebrities all the time for their cameos, they do too damn many
