This is all stuff from my high school AP class a few years ago. I've basically completely lost any interest in photography due to the amount of stress and lack of free-time my studies require. I'd like to start up again later in life once I have more time and can afford a new digital (these were all taken with a 5MP Digital SLR which is pretty bad these days).

But anyway, comments are welcomed. Enjoy.

There's more on my DeviantArt if you're interested.

Thanks for viewing!

I like the color-splashed leaves a lot. Do you have a bigger version?

I agree with Maestro, love the leaves picture a lot.

I love the door.jpg. It looks like it could be an album cover.

You should play around with more subtle versions of the filters on some of those photos - I think they would look even better.

On the liquor store one, I think it would look cool if you removed the cars and the building to the right. So it's just a building and darkness to the right. Crop it if you can. You can put titles or other words on the dark area and use it as some kind of cover art. Maybe lower the brightness too.

Wells St. is very nice too.

I like them, apart from the cheap filtered liquor store one.

The door and Wells St. are my favourite.

Sure.

And let me explain the liquor store shot. I totally agree with all of you; it truly is tacky as all hell. This was part of a mandatory assignment in my digital photo class that I was taking at the same time as AP. My teacher really liked it, so she thought I should use it in my breadth section of my portfolio. I was all for not doing more work, so I chose it.

The assignment was to learn how to use the masking brush in certain areas while assigning the brush with different filter effects. We had to use a few different filters on one picture in order to satisfy the requirement. I got an A for this and somehow a honorary mention in the magazine Photographer's Forum.

It's funny that someone mentioned how the door would make a great album cover; it ended up being one. A small country band paid me $75 bucks to use it. The city shot of the Jackson St. CTA bus (I'll add that below) also was purchased for the back of an album for a similar price. The stairs (also added below) was used by a independent production company (skateboarding/skating) that has basically dissolved like they all do.

Thanks for replies!
