i recently purchased half life 2, pretty much coz everyone says it was
that good, however when i go to play the game, the video and sound
keeps jumping, it works fine if im online gaming, but if i try to play the
actual game, it just wont work.

Any ideas?

ive checked that i have enough RAM (currently 1GB) and ive checked
that i have a suitable graphics card (currently Nvidea 6200)

Any help with this matter would be greatly appreciated so that i may
enjoy the finer things about the game, like how to play level 1 hahaha

Many thanks

Experienced the same issue here but on my laptop beast. I installed the new graphics drivers and that sorted some of the freezes i had, then reinstalled from scratch (takes a year and a day downloading, but super fast on a uni connection :P) and that has sorted it.

Just uninstall and reinstall again. Sometimes the files get corrupted when they get transfered from the server, so just try installing again and see what happens.

Seems the logical thing to do as you can play fine online, so its not a PC issue. Just sounds like some of the files are stuffed.

verify your game files... try that before downloading... also, go into your steam folder and delete clientregistry.blob then restart steam.

disable internet explorer in your add/remove programs.
