A new gaming news site is looking to fill its staff.
We wont be releasing our name or any info about the site to the general populous until our launch date, but we are backed by www.wiredlabs.com and its executives.
We’ve developed a revolutionary design concept that is being created by www.levid.com.
We are looking to provide in-depth coverage of CAL, UGS, RedPhive and many others. We will be initially covering Counter-strike, Battlefield 1942, Desert Combat, Ravenshield, Return to Castle Wolfenstein and Natural Selection. As new games show a growing community we have a modularized system that allows us to add those games without interrupting the current interface and creating a mess of news.
We have over 100 positions available for Counter-Strike (no that’s not a typo) some of which being Division and Conference heads to just basic writing positions.
We’re looking for creative writers who are aspiring to have their voice heard. There are a few criteria we have for applying:
1. You must be 16+ years of age
2. You must have a definitive knowledge of the league you wish to write for and be willing to take a decent amount of time throughout the week to do write-ups
3. You must be able to meet deadlines on a regular basis.
4. You must have a strong writing background.
Positions Available:
Division Head - A supervisor position that would work over the writers and other supervisors of that division. You would enforce deadlines and work directly with the head supervisor. You would also be in charge of having enough ideas and content to fill the weeks demand. (Example: Division head of CAL-Intermediate Central)
League Head - (Note: only the leagues with very few teams, such as CAL-I, have League Heads). You would have a supervisor position over a number of writers. You would enforce deadlines and work directly with the head supervisor. You would also be in charge of having enough ideas and content to fill the weeks demand.
League General News - Your duties are to keep up with the league assigned to you and write articles about things like: league movement, match of the week, interviews ect..
Predictions / Results writer - Your duties would be to select a handful of matches from the league assigned to you every week, and write up small but thorough predictions about the matches. After match night, write more detailed results with things like strategies, key plays, key players and hopefully quotes from the teams.
All of these positions will be fairly demanding. A lot will be asked of you every week so if you aren't up for the responsibility, don't bother applying.
If you want to apply, include the following in your email:
1. Name
2. Age
3. Exactly what position you are applying for. (position name, league, division). For example: League News Writer, UGS-Main East
4. How much you can get done in a week, or how many hours you can spend
5. Why we should choose you as part of our staff
6. 150 words or less on the release of Half-life 2 and it’s effects on the Counter-strike community. Act as if this was an assignment given to you for the front page of the site.
Though it is not required, you can also include other writing pieces in your application, possibly a match prediction or post match-write-up.
If your interested in becoming a part of the Counter-Strike staff then please send your application to: [email protected]
