Alright, so I don't know much about the process, nor do I really intend to learn; however, I was wondering just how extensive Source mods can be. I happened across Gabriel Knight 3 today, remembered how horrible the 3d was for that game, and thought that it would be an amazing port to this system. I imagine it probably wouldn't quite work, but it would still be an incredible game in this environment.

Anyway, does anyone know how possible that kind of port would be?

I remember seeing GK3 in a mag and thinking they were the best graphics I'd ever seen, and I'd never in my life have a computer capable of running them :D

Oh wait...

I guess it would be possible, but it would take several years... maybe three or four.

You can essentially create wholly new and seperate games with Source. For instance rally-racing mods, Online RPG mods, and arcade fighters were all made using the HL1 engine. Source is even easier to mod than HL1 so if you've got the time and the people necessary, esentially anything is possible.
