A question about delay...

Ok, please don't flame me for this, it's just a simple question.

Why is it that, if HL2 was delayed according to EB games' dates, they delay it for 2 months? Valve is obviously working extremely hard to get the game in on time, but WHY delay it for such a long time? Why not delay it unitl...Oct 11th...or Oct. 1st? Why jump all the way to Dec. 31st and all this shit? It would be more logical, as Valve wouldn't complete the game and just leave it sitting there until Dec. 31st or whatever.

Hope it makes sense. Once again, don't flame....please????

Long story short.

Valve have never (ever) said a date other than the 30th of September.

Guys, he knows that asking about the delay is bad, he's not stupid(Or is he?) He's cleary trying to make this less of a delay thread.
 
everyone will continue to over react like this, to threads like this. Were about 2 weeks from HL2, the game we've all been waiting for. Emotions are clashing. lol
 
I too think the game will be out Sep 30th, but I'm just saying IF they delay it...it wouldn't make sense to delay it for so long!!!!!

Exactly! Don't believe those stories saying another company said 1 game not in their hands won't make the date! They're just trying to make you buy THEIR games!
 
The game will come out on SEPTEMBER 30th! Say it with me, SEPTEMBER 30th! There ya go! Look for it to go gold within the next few days and all these delay threads can cease...

here is what I think (puts on flamer proof suit) There's a very good chance that HL2 will come out September 30th but lets just say for the sake of this conversation that it doesnt , it wont be far from september 30th date. October 15 and dates like that I can deal with, but anything more hell no, like the dates November and 2004 I will be extremely pissed. Look at the bright side , Benchmark is out september 30th. :) now pls dont flame me :\

Well,around October 1-15 is O.K. if it's delayed until then. But November and 2004? Waste of $378 for my XMAS rig then :(

sept 30th is a tuesday anyway, and i wouldn't drive out to the store, install , play game, and get my homework done.

prbly buy it on thurs fri? i dunno :\
