Hi, does anyone know if I can have DirectX 9 on a computer with Geforce 3TI500? (64mb, it's the best of the Geforce 3 cards).

I'm curious because I want those fancy shining effects :afro:

I believe anything below a GF4 is a DX 8 card. There was a magazing article someone posted that showed all the cards in which category they fell. You can check at www.nvidia.com or any other hardware website that has your card listed. Look under the specifications. Should tell what version of DX it supports.

Thank you, even though it may be bad info for me, it was kind to answer =)

Thanx again=)
I would quess 8.x is 8.0 and 8.1

The shiny effects was cool in some places, like the metal roof and the "Ant Lion Guard", it almost looked like if it was for real! But some things looked strange, hehe

The effects on DX8 aren't hugely different from 9, although it does look nicer it'll still be just as fun to play :)

Yeah, you're probably right. When I bought my computer I bought loads of extra stuff, and the only thing that's old now is the graphics card.

Most of the new computers don't have the things that mine has, 1024 RAM, 180 GB, and stuff.

Now I will just wait for HL2 and don't cry about my card =)
