What are the advantages from installing games onto the 360 HDD apart from the obvious? (i.e. less noisy, less wear-and-tear, improved load times.)

Some say it improves graphics slightly by less pop-ups and better LOD textures and such. Is that true?

The thing I've noticed most was decreased load times, which for games like Oblivion was a godsend.

What happens if you delete the game from your HDD? Do you keep saved files from the game?

It just allows the game to run faster and smoother. Not a bad idea for games with long loading screens.

Yeah loading times are quicker. But then I've only installed about 2 games to hard drive
GTA 4 & BiA:HH.

I never knew about this feature, felt like killing myself while GTA IV was loading.

Shame that buying the XB360 HDs costs such a huge-ass amount, I've already got a premium with the original HD installed, buying that new larger one is like 100 euro, which is crazy, considering for 100 euro I could get a good 1TB drive for my PC..

So true, they sure are greedy bastards.
