I was just curious how one goes about getting the game they want on Steam. I understand that you can purchase and download games through Steam, but heres what I don't get: I bought Half-Life 2, and saw that "Half-Life: Source" was under Just Released. All it will let me do is check purchase options. When I do so, it tells me I can't purchase it because I already have Half-Life 2.

Is this how its going to be with DOD: Source and TFC: Source? If you don't purchase the correct HL2 package that includes it are you screwed for playing it? Or is this just in the case of Half-Life: Source? If all of the mods Valve releases must be bought in some package instead of simply downloaded, that would be pretty stupid.

the game is prob. not done so they wont let u preload it yet intil release most likeley

I can understand if HL:Source comes with the Gold package only, but what about DOD:Source and TFC:Source? When they come out, must you buy them in some HL2 package like you seemingly must do with HL:Source? Or will simply having HL2 be enough? Because attempting to purchase DOD:Source on Steam doesn't work, saying that you have already purchased HL2.

well they havent really released any news on the dod:s so idk
