but doom3 was a piece of shit...DiSTuRbEd said:Hot damn it was worth it. Christ, makes Doom 3 look like a piece of shit.
But the waiting was a game in itself, you have to admit. It had drama, action, excitement, plot twists... What else could you ask for? I went into the hype with the knowledge that it was just a game - and now I have the game, and that is indeed true. The Mullinator said:It was worth it for me. Don't ever get this involved and excited about a game again. It just feels so depressing once you finally have it and you know that over a year of excitement has come down to good 17+ hours and then it will for the most part all be over.
Next game I get really excited about I am going to make sure I don't get nearly as involved in it as I have with HL2.
What more could I ask for? A better social life and something more relaxing on the nerves. ;(Narcolepsy said:But the waiting was a game in itself, you have to admit. It feels like boxing day.Dalamari said:(I made this post in off-topic as to not be overlooked in general hl2)
Was it all worth it?
The years of waiting, the binks, the warez, now that we as a whole have the game, was it all worth all of it?

That bring up a question! Is this site gonna change it's name to halflife3.net or what?Farrowlesparrow said:It was worth it yes...The prolonged wait I think has made this all the better.
I know I wouldnt be friends with a lot of people if I had been playing half-life 2 back in september 2003. I wouldn't have done well at college at all and the game wouldn't have been as good.
As for what now...Well people say the journey is the fun part, but life is a journey Perhaps people who got to know each other here won't stick around or keep in touch, but we will all gain new friends and new experiences in the next great adventure. (Man...its like leaving college or something :O) After all...theres always halflife3.

The game? Still undecided. It made some great strides in certain areas, but HL2 wasn't perfect. It has several glaring flaws that has made me bitter towards the game in certain respects.
Neutrino said:What flaws do you mean? Just curious as I pretty much feel the same way.
