I don't know if this has been pointed out already, but I just found a pretty serious flaw in the game.

I was trying to get the fifth cache but couldn't figure out how to get up there. Then I thought I could have used the RPG if I had any ammo (which I didn't have). So I decided to go back where I had found the second cache... on foot, since I couldn't go by car (the road is destroyed).

The game loaded the old map while I was going through the tunnel. I got the RPG ammo, then back in the tunnel I found... my car with Alyx inside!!11! WTF??

Needless to say, you're not supposed to do that.

You can get the stuff from that cache anyway. You've figured out that you could shoot a rocket at it - why not try chucking stuff at it?

Of course you are right. Maybe the real flaw is that I didn't feel "compelled" to do that. I knew I could take my time (there were no enemies around) and I thought I could have explored the surroundings freely. So I went back.

Iron_cube: as I said, the road is destroyed. She could have never done that.

There's a bunch of boulders around there. Just throw them up at it.

That's one thing I didn't like about Episode 2. It did not consist of a time limit to get the data sample to White Forest and the missile launched to close the Portal.
Regardless of whether it takes you 4 hours or 4 days to play it, Magnusson will always say "We couldn't have cut it any closer even if we wanted to".

Same thing with ep1.

Screw time limits anyway, that'd totally ruin the game. Players want to take the time to look at things.

It should be optional. Maybe for the fourth skill difficulty.

It was supposed to be in ep2, but I guess it'll come around.

Wow, a time limit for the next level of difficulty. Seems very interesting. Would be an awesome idea..if implemented

I used the crossbow to get to the fifth cache (the one hanging from a tree really high?)

Worked for me.

I tried to throw stuff at it but didn't bother much and just drove on.

There's a AR2 alt-fire charge in there, one of like 4 in the game. It's worth getting.

4?
Not so sure...i had many occasions, where i would AR2-secondary-fired the hunters.

I walked up to it, saw a throw able rock, put 2 and 2 together and solved it.

I've pretty much come to the conclusion that in-game and real world time have no real connection to each other. Play through HL2 really quickly and you'll find an entire ingame day and night will pass in a matter of hours. Stand still for a real world day and time wont pass at all. Half-Life time is therefore measured in episodes & levels!

"Hey babe, wanna go out for dinner some time? How about the episode after the next, say around 5 or 6 levels in?"

How could you have missed any? They show up on the radar.

What disopointed me about those radar caches is that the transmitter only existed in those five :|

I noticed the car would always appear at the last load point when I was transporting the gnome ;)

Besides, for the fifth cache, just fire a rock with the grav gun, at the basket.

Also, at the rocket cache, if you look at the right hand side of the bumper on the white van you see a lambda.

Skill Level 9 - Crowbar only, Health ticks down, Alyx wants you dead, Infact everyone does, Oh and your acctully on mars fighting demons... Demons with.. forks.. n'stuff
