Aww come on, you'll get the money! (there's banks to rob, you know.)

And you haven't tought about this earlier? 2 days before the release of HL2?

I'm sure there will be many people out there who pick up the game, and say, "Wow, sweet! I can't wait to play this". Go home, and realize their computer isn't up to snuff because they are casual gamers. I hate how much I feel sorry for people sometimes, grrr.

How old is your video card? DirectX 6 come on... If you would shell out less than the game you could get a different one... I'm surprized you can run windows with that thing....

I'll be thinking of you when I am playing Half Life 2 in all its glory on my 256mb x800

Can i run half life 2 with a directx 6.
Umm.. Didn't you already realise that you can't?

No, you need a DirectX 7 or higher card to run HL2. (Along with a 1.2ghz CPU and atleast 256 mb of RAM.)

Right mate - Bad news but if your pc has an AGP slot (hopefully does) then can pick up GF4 for like £15 - If u can't afford that then speak to me and I'll see what I can do okies

Dave

don't think so...DX7 is the lowest I am aware of..get a geforce 5200 if cash is the problem..

they are only about $50-$70..good luck and I hope things work out for you

the MX series is shit(no offense to owners of such cards)..

I only pointed out the 5200 as a cheap yet useable option

*sigh* my notebook has a Geforce 440 Go. The key word there is notebook, which means no vid card updating. And you think not having money is being screwed, I literally *cannot* update my graphics card without buying an entirely new notebook. :(

I'll live I suppose. It doesn't run that bad. I know that nvidia has an emulator to emulate new OpenGL extensions on older hardware through software, I wonder if they have one for Direct3D as well.

DirectX 6. Just get a new card mate, you won't be able to play most current games, nevermind Half-Life 2!

I'm sorry to hear that but everything happens for a reason you never know.
