are client-side physics affected equally in each of the players' computers? for example, i (counter-terrorist) shoot a client-side milk carton and i see it flying from x-spot to x-spot. what happens to a terrorist who didn't see it flying while i shot it? is the milk carton moved as well in his computer, game, or... <whateveryouwanttocallit>?

From what I've seen the smaller stuff (stuff that's smaller than the bucket) is done client-side. When it's done client-side all players will see the physics reactions (I watched a guy get distracted by a bottle for five minutes). You can tell that the physics for bigger objects are server-side because a) they push you back when you walk into them and b) there is a slight delay from when you shoot and when the reaction occurs.

Yup the larger objects which actually effect gameplay (barrels) are all done server side. All the little cartons and such are done client-side...

But of course all players will pretty much have the same end result with the physics, it's not like everything will be totally out of whack....

It's all to save on server bandwith :)

the dead bodies are also clientside, i died once and it looked cool and i said to my friend "i just took a screenshot fo my body" he did also because he say blook on my ass, even though on my coimputer i was laying on my back. the model was in the same general area though, but different body orientation. also if you alt tab out of a game, when you alt tab back in, if there was a dead body near you, you can see it fall down again (when you alt tab out its like it stands up or something)

The physics are a little wonky in CS:S for whatever reason. They still satsify though :)

well i dont know about that i had a situation that points to them being serverside. there was a dead body on the floor. and this guy was shooting it in the head repeatedly, then he would shoot his hands to get his arms to flap around. so his body was the same on both of our screens

Take this quote out of context, and it sounds really really messed up.

if u don't get it, we're not tellin ya

lol! What if you launch a CT with a frag grenade, and he knocks into some barrels? Do ragdolls effect simulated objects and have weight? Then they would have to be done on the server.

Roger that, lets run like hell!

i tried once to throw my weapon in the air and another guy shoots the weapon in the air and it works , its awesom
