a small cubemap problem

OK so i got a bunch of cubemaps in my map and i built them and what not. Then i used impulse 81 to get the 6 reflecting balls to test em out. Some of the cubemaps are ok no doubt, but others are only reflecting the skybox texture. How can I fix this or prevent it from happening again? Do I just delete them and put in new ones?
 
depending on what i load along with the cubemaps (certain collections of entities and brushes) seems to determine which cubemaps will work properly and which will just reflect the skybox. does anyone at all know how to solve this problem? (the reflecting skybox problem that is. btw the cubemaps are just lone cubemaps and arent assigned to any specific faces)
 
Are you sure you put cubemaps at the places it reflects the sky? If yes then post a screenshot please.
 
ok the problem no longer exists. i suppose the problem had to do with using cordon bounds and visgrouping....apparently the cubemaps will only be effective if everything in your map is compiled. you all probably already knew that though. but i found a new random glitch. click here see those wierd colors on the wall? luckily though i restarted and now it looks ok. well thats what some of my map looks like so far and is why i have been buggin you all with so many questions lately. thanks again for all your help. any suggestions so far based on the few things you see?
