A Small Problem With Starting a New Game

Well it's been a bit over 3 days since I filed my question so I'll see if anyones had this problem before. I've been having problems with loading up a new game in Half Life 2, I just recently re-installed, and added it to my firewall list. I have a Image Shack hosted screen of where exactly it stops loading. Usually it gets to 2/3 but in the last day or so it wants nothing to do with that much.

So anything that anyone can say to help would. I should prolly list a couple of specs I suppose.

Windows Media Edition 2004
Pentium 4 3.2GHz Processor
Nvidia GeForce 6800GT Video Card
1GB RAM
Plenty of Hard Drive Space

Anything else you'd need to know I'll supply. I've tried a number of Steams solutions...one of which actually put me in this mess, but I can't speak ill of steam here, at least I don't believe so.

EDIT: I did notice another thread like this BUT I also noticed that no conclusion had been made.

Eh. Doesn't really matter if you speak ill of it anyway. Not much of us even like it.
Anyway, the biggest solution ever: REINSTALL. If that doesnt work,
REINSTALL STEAM. Always worked for me. Might take awhile to get it back up, but if your that intent on playing it, its worth a shot.

I'll re-install it and see how it goes. The validate tool is what got me into this mess in the first place. After I ran it this started happening. Before it still froze but at least it would load to gameplay. The steam diagnostic tool didn't work.

Thank you both for your replies.

Thanks,
HBoss

Well it now officially loads to 3/4 of the way again. One step away from actually running again. Thing is that I noticed that when the game freezes Steam.exe eats at least half of the other available amount RAM/CPU. Which is really strange.

Any other suggestions by chance?

I finally got an error message:

Engine Error

Model models/kleiner.mdl not found and models/error.mdl couldn't be loaded.

Any ideas?
