A stupid theory involving that damn hacker

Just had a thought... We all know the hacker had access to valve's email account. Let's assume the hacker sent the delay message as a joke to shacknews. Shacknews immediately put it up as real. Now Gabe probably said "Well rather than risking the chance of letting everyone know we've been hacked let's just say the delay is real and really delay it till holiday 2003." So in fact the hacker's stupid little joke is what made the game delayed.

Keep in mind it's just a theory and is a long shot, could be true but highly unlikely. No flames, just reasons why it couldn't be true.

Since people have been talking to ppl from VALVe on the phone, I doubt much official information isn't real, a post on shacknews that wasn't real Im pretty sure someone at VALVe would have heard of and told us it wasn't real.

And while there is a tiny chance you're right about them just not saying its fake to not let ppl know they were hacked, I think theres alittle too much conspiracy theory on most of the threads here. And I doubt 1 out of 100 of this theorys are right
