Tobias M. Baumann is studying Bachelor of Arts (Multimedia Arts) at the SAE Institute in Zurich, Switzerland, and at the University of Middlesex, England. For his Final Research Project he is doing a large study about Teamwork in online games and how to improve it, entitled "Effective Teamwork in online Games". The main fact-basis to prove his thesis is an ongoing online survey about teamwork. In this survey he asks questions about what people think of teamwork in online games, for example, "Are they happy with online game teamwork? What do they like and what not? Does teamwork need improvement?", etc.

This is a non-profit study and is being performed on an educational basis. The survey ends on November 17 and the study will be complete by December 6.

Additional information and the survey can be found at: www.the2ndsky.ch/survey2k3

Sounds interesting, is the paper going to be available to read once he's finished?

i dont see very much teamwork in internet games but if your playing a lan game with friends you seem to have lots of team work.

Cool, just checking. :)

I liked the ideas for developing the role of the commander in games like NS.

Yeah it definatly helps if you know the people you're playing with.

go on! fill out the survey! tell your friends!
Every opinion counts!

Btw spacelord...I deleted your thread in the Help Wanted Section, no need to post the same thread in different sections

Thank you. I just didn't quite now as where to post this.

how many times can i fill out the servey, i've already done it once.
in reply to a different discussion,
i only visit two forums, this one and the general half life one.

I was gona post this too. Its interesting. Anyway My opinion on teamwork:

I don't believe haveing a commander with a RTS style view is a good idea for the future of games. I think that once voicecom becomes common place teamwork will become easier and people should follow those who are genuinly good leaders. And those that like to follow, follow.

Play CS with Voicecom on a server where most people have it too and you will see people covering each other and telling each other what they see and hear. Its a really great way to play. I did it myself today and its very very rewarding. I love the way people actually adopt stratergies such as laying down covering fire while someone else moves forward with their shotgun! Its really really cool.

Thats the sort of play I want to have in Team Fortress 2!

Just my opinions on things :)

they should eat ceremonious cheese before combat, then smother eachother in the results of a fondu set.
