Subliminal messaging is a tricky thing. Do it wrong, and you'll get the media all over you, delving into your deepest secrets and uprooting your plans for everyone to see. But if you do it right... Well, you'll be like Blizzard, and everyone will think that all of your games are utterly amazing. And yes, of course Blizzard use subliminal messaging in their games. The only possible way their games can be as fun and enjoyable as they are, is if happy, thoughtful words flash lovingly over your screen, filling you with a sense of unusual bliss.

Why am I making this thread you say?
Simply because I love Blizzard. And Warcraft.
Oh, and my cat loves them too.

So, are you a fan of Blizzard's games? Maybe you enjoy the furious battles in StarCraft, where marines struggle to win an ongoing war against the infinite spawn of aliens. You might have a fetish for trampling over endless amounts of demon-spawned opponents, gaining in strength and skill as you slowly wade through Diablo's minions. Of course, most people just can't resist controling vast armies of primitive cultures, leading troops to the unexplored world of dragons, adventure and mystery. Myself, I prefer to go into this world alone... Brave the landscape with my feindish rogue, battling feirce creatures and sneaking deep into foreboding dungeons.

And yes. Yes, I do have two copies of World of Warcraft.

So, what are your opinions on these great developers?

Blizzard is together with Valve one of the few developers I truly respect.
 
Did the cat come with the Collectors Edition as well?

And yes. Blizzard are teh pwnage.
 
That collector's edition box owns. I wish it wasn't so damn expensive.

[gloat] I got the second to last Collecters edition to be sold. EVER. In the ENTIRE world. [/gloat]
 
To be honest, Warcraft I,II and Starcraft was the only blizzard games I enjoyed out of the box. I am not a big fan of Hack and Slash roleplaying games and this puts Diablo 2 and WoW down instantly (being Massive Multiplayer only makes it worse IMO). And the insanly durable units in WC3 destroyed it for me totally there, although custom maps can be fun sometimes.
 
i love the blizzard games! but alas, i can't get WoW cause of the monthly fee... me = poor :(
 
I love Blizzard, but I can't really rate WoW because it's currently lost in the fuggen post o_0
 
Yeah Blizzard rock. And like PvtRyan said, they're up there with Valve...actually probably higher for me.
 
Starcraft... got addicted...

Diablo II... got addicted...

World of Warcraft...
 
Blizzard is the company that I most respect out of any company in the entier world. Valve does not even come close to the respect I give to blizzard.

Blizzard's Starcraft I mean even today gets up to 150k people. 7 Years have passed and the game did not strive on mods. It strived on 3 races that were totally diffrent while being balanced to damn near perfection.

It strived on a mapping community that constantly found new things to exploit and allow there editors to expand and allow the mappers to make even more things. From the oringal staredit, to emerald patchs, to ZapPlacer, to Him 2000, to X-tra 2.5\2.6 to Scmdraft - Guedit - Scm toolkit - Scmdraft 2 - Starforge - Proedit and sooo many more utilites.
Camelot systems hand crafted damn near all the modding tools we have to do for starcraft. Yet modding is never really done anymore(Camelot sys also shut down).

Quite amazing what starcraft has been through. There has literally been map making "Ages", and ages in soo many other things.


Starcraft also has one of the greatest storylines I ever saw. With such a cliffhanger it left something amazing. With such a developed background story it allows for so much in a sequel via story.

Starcraft is simply phenominal. The balance..the diffrent races.

Many RTS fans will consider starcraft still the greatest RTS today and be unmatched.


Amazing isn't it? 7 years.. 7 years.... and it still lives. HL strived off of mods. Few games last 7 years with a community that still beats other communites that strives off of itself.

I don't doubt starcraft will still have a striving community in the years to come.

I've very fond memories of playing Warcraft with friends.
 
Nothing but the best of quality comes from Blizzard. Let's hope that continues with Starcraft: Ghost and their future titles.

Yes but blizzard still oversees it.
Trust me..they know how to oversee the project.

I hated most of the SC:G videos. They eventually through nihilstic off the project and put Swinging Ape Studios on.
Lets see what they pull out.

I know that because when I was ordering the CE (it was phone order only), the guy said that there were only two left.

And when I say sold, I mean OFFICIALLY sold. Technically, while those sealed boxes on ebay haven't been opened, they have allready been sold once and are therefore second hand.

So seeing as every single CE in the world has now been sold, regardless of the fact that there are still a few un-opened ones circulating around small communities of people, I got the second to last one \o/

yeah maybe Blizzard is not making it but is seeing the project,and sure they delayed it cuz they wasnt satisfied

thats a sign that blizzard care to give quality to the player

I seriously doubt that, he probably just meant for that store. To tell you that they had given you the second to last ever sold they'd have to be in contact with every store around the world and know how many they had left in their inventory. They're still being sold though because I'm sure there are still a few stores with CE editions left, wether it be unsold or not picked up by pre-orders yet. There is no way that guy really logically tell you that you got the second to last one ever sold. That's just like saying the guy where I bought it from told me I was the first ever to buy it... IN THE WORLD. He doesn't know that he's just talking out his ass.

Anything that has a blizzard logo has to be in tip top shape.

I believe the oringal release date was back in 2002? lol. Blizzard sure delayed it... I think 3 times so far.
 
Maybe he ordered it direct from Blizzard? They'd know if it was the last one or not.

And at least Blizzard didn't force us to use some ridiculously over-zealous, clunky, inconvenient, modem-busting, annoying, consistently unreliable front-end software platform to play their games. Even if they did make us use battle.net.

Blizzard's never failed me before, cept starcraft :p however, I didn't play starcraft when it came out so I couldn't appreciate it at that time, but otherwise its just too gloomy and dark for me, honestlyy. I <3 WC3.

I don't care what anyone else says, WC3 was blizzards best RTS.
I played it more than most games I have, with friends, huge amount of fun.

And now I'm a huge WoW addict, yep, call in rehab.

Actually, all of america and europe have sold out, and gameplay are the only retailer in the whole of the UK to have got the CEs in stock. Blizzard were officially using Gameplay to distribute the CEs.
