A Way To Turn Off Modem Sounds?

The dial-up noise is so god damn annoying, I just want to connect without having to hear it, is there a way to turn that god-awful noise off?

Most of the software I used to use had an option to play modem sounds or not.
It's been awhile since I last used any dial up software.

Check your ISP's dialer settings.

Ok, I don't have my modem installed any more so I can't confirm this but. (I'm assuming you're on an XP machine - if not the steps are similar)

Right Click on My computer -> Properties -> Hardware -> Device Manager -> Find you Modem and double click on it -> Somewhere in that window is what you are looking for.

I think thats it.

i dont have a modem anymore heh not many do but i think that is what you do.

In your modem settings there is a noise thing. I can't really remember, i'd have to go down stairs and go on an really old shitty computer to check.

I found it, I had to click my connection > properties > configure modem > uncheck the "Enable Modem Speaker" box
