A friend of mine who looked through the German (Dutch?) review and it had a screenshot of a white manipulator picking up a body! Is this true?

It's a huge spoiler that those idiots in the magazine put up in it.

I only said no spoilers becuase I wasnt going to put up any spoilers.

white manipulator??? wtf? whatever hope hl2 will not come out the 26th of november...its in 1month and 22days! OMG!

I saw the pic and it kinda looked like a manipulater/physgun with a blue/white beam.

I'm pretty sure it was white.

EDIT:
Yup, definately white.

Can I post a cropped image of it? Just to show what it looks like?

I'm up for it. People that don't wanna look for some reason...don't have to click the link :p

For some reason I thought that the manipulator could be upgraded or something. It would've been a long ago...and I don't even know if it's true.

I saw the picture on these forums and remember it being blue. :| Must be another one or something...

It's probably upgraded. I read in an old e-mail from Valve that the manipulator can be upgraded throughout the course of the game to pick up heavier objects.

Here you go. 2 small screens cut out of the review. White manipulator.

Don't click if you don't want to see it.

Don't link to scans from magazines that you don't have explicit permission to reproduce.

It was blue. And yes, it picked up a body.

But was it the physgun? (the one from the e3 2003 vids)

In E3 2003 you all could see a "blue-beem-gun" in the HL2_TECHDEMO.EXE Bink.

Some guy emailed valve and asked if it would be in HL2, they said no, but now, in the dutch PCGAMER \\ magazine, there's a similar weapon, it looks like the manipulator, but this one is blueish instead of orangeish.

So, the Dutch paper spoiled us with that. There's two "manipulators", one for small-medium object and apperently, one for larger object as bodies.

Actually, if one is the blue beam gun, then its not just another 'manipulator'. The maniplulator is designed for pulling stuff towards you, holding it, and firing it away again, while the physgun is for picking objects up, swinging them around, and possibly welding them together (?).

Actually, it was stated by someone that visited Valve that the physgun is back in.

It looks blue indeed, but close to white (I have the magazine right next to me). Looks like an updated manipulator to me. Btw, the mag shows an even bigger spoiler on the last page of the review. So those who have it are warned.

Yeah, it looks a bit weird though, they don't look threathened but rather surprised.

Source? Can't recall this.

Yes, at another site, and it seemed rather suspicious. Greg Coomer had stated that it was not part of the game some time before. I find it hard to believe that they would have chucked it back in once the game was almost done, on account of the balancing issues involved...

I knew about the blue manipulator being taken out, I dont really find any reason to put it back in unless there was some part in a level with a grinder and the gun could be to pick up bodies and throw it in there

Oh the BLOOD!

The more guns the better.
I agree, the extensive spectrum of weapons was one of the things that I found most appealing about halflife.
Scrolling down your inventory, softly humming: hmmm..what to use..ey!..nah better save that one for later...this one looks good,yeah..excellent

Wow that is great news. Does anyone know what store in the US would carry the magazine?

Woah. I've never even heard about this white/blue manipulator gun! :p Sounds awesome.
