Hey all,

In the market for a new Mobo and am leaning to the A7N8X Deluxe.

Question for anyone who has one...is the SoundStorm worth using as is, or is a seperate sound card (Audigy 2 or perhaps Fortissimo III 7.1) worth the extra money?

I have read many good things about SoundStorm, but would be good to get some more opinions.

(I did a search for this but didn't find anything specific)

Thanks in advance.

SoundStorm has been excellent so far for me. If you arent a really really really big soundfreak, I see no reason to buy a seperate card...

Oh god, i have soundstorm on my abit NF7-S. It souns so amazing, dont even think of wasting your money on an audigy 2.

i have a A7N8X DX, and i disabled soundstorm. Onboard sound will always be worse. I got me an audigy2 from newegg.

Not with soundstorm.

Well, i didnt say it was bad, i said it was worse. Audigy2 is much better if you have the money. The fortissimo is also a very good choice.

Good deal. Thanks all.

I'll invest the $$ I would have spent for a sound card into more ram or faster CPU

:)

its a great sound chip!!! , i have it too
the only problem, which ive only had happen in the mod, natural-selection, like once maybe twice in counter-strike, is where the sound would bug out, and get buzzy, but u could fix this, just by quitting game out, and rejoining, it is annoying, doesnt happen to much
- usually only happens when playing for awhile, which makes me thing the southbridge is getting a little to hot!!, anyone know where i can find a heatsink to fit a southbridge?
