Obviously I can have an SLI 2x video cards. But isn't ATI coming out with a "SLI" type technology? Will that be compatible with this board if they do or am I stuck with Nvidia (not that Nvidia cards are bad)

Remains to be seen. Noone knows if the Nvidia Nforce4 supports supertiling yet, as this is the format that ATI cards will use. Nvidia has mentioned that they could have gone this route, but for them it was not as beneficial as the SFR or AFR type of rendering.

ATI will be software based. You should be able to put in mismatched cards too. Although I think it will run at the lower cards speed. Not sure if it will work with nForce boards or not, I would think so. There only has been a small bit said about ATI's dual PCI Express gfx card setup for the desktop.

Nvidia's SLi is not software based? This is why we need driver support, right, because Nvidia uses a total hardware solution, right?
Some ATI cards will get overclocked, lke some X8-- cards, if support is built-in.(will be mostly sapphire cards, IMHO)

I would hope it would work, there isn't money to be made if it's not a "standard". Look at companies like IBM and such who tried to make a technology that they made "PROPRIETARY"...didn't work for them too well.
