Well, i'll proberly get flammed for this (damn CS fans ;) ) But AAOps v. 1.9 is now avbaulable for DL! bunch of new goodness!


AA has come along way since those of us who have been around since v1.00....ah the memories....having to play MOUT online, no honor....
 
Downloading now via torrent. :) I'm still looking for faster links though. :/

BTW I remember those first few days of the first release well.

EDIT: I just went to DL and it said its not really out yet, some kind of security crap and well have to wait a little bit. Any ideas?

The sequrity thing isn't anyhting. A few site release dit early, and they are gettign the servers ready for 1.0, so you can't play online yet, but you can do CLS training and get qualifed, and gawk at the new player models/textures/realtime shadows in the meantime.


Note: you need to install 1.9 into a serperate folder from 1.7, or uninstall 1.7 ocompletetly because theywell **** up if u install 1.9 over 1.7
 
Ok, i found it. Why is there only a full install? No patch? Doesnt that mean all my training is erased?

No, all your traing/honor/kills is stored on the army database.

Pressure: It's a free online multiplayer comabt game made the US army as a recruitment tool. It uses unreal warfare tech, and, imho, it's once of the best onlineFPS out there. It is constanly being apudated by the Devs, new features and maps aevery few months.

i'm getting 19 peers and 8 seeds, but only 30kb down and 35kb up. the settings are for "unlimited" and i'm on cable.

As reported on Blue's News, some sites have prematurely released the new version of America's Army: Operations (v1.90). This new version wasn't supposed to be released yet, because no servers are online yet - and therefore there's no point in downloading it since you won't be able to play. Of course, you can count on us to bring you the official release when it is available.

A subsequent post by Abraxas has word straight from the game's executive producer/director:

Due to a security issue with one of our third-party vendors, 1.9 was mistakenly made available. For those who download it, be advised that there are no official servers available to play, and you will be unable to authenticate. We are still in the process of setting up servers for 1.9. As soon as this process is complete, 1.9 will become functional.

Umm well first of all, the AA devs said that was the genuine version, so its fine. The only problem is that you cant play on official servers yet, they still need to change them to 1.9
 
Well how long until the official servers, would we have to dl again?
 
hmm then maybe I can get this shit working?

for some reason my AA-game ****ed up ever since 1.6
so ****ing annoying...as early as yester day I tried downloading the 1.7 full again...guess what...two hours downloading and ****ing shit don't work!

sooo ****ed up...but I'll prolly end up trying to download this aswell...better be working!

Sure you may not beable to play it online yet, but you can qualify as a medic. besides, install it to a diffrent folder and you're fine.
 
I wonder who got the best medic scores here ?

The first test I failed because I didnt know there was a test at the end! :LOL:, but I got 76% second try

Second: 79

third 87%

Pretty crap grades eh ?
 
94% on the first on, and it didn't tell me foe the last 2.
maybe that i'm first aid/bloodborne pathogen and cpr trianed/qualified in rl helped :)
 
Arg! I left 1.9 to d/l overnight, so when i woke up i went to install. After its done extracting, it goes to the SiSoft Sandra install screen??? I uninstalled sandra and this is still happening. Any ideas?
 
Wait i just got it to work, i had to do a bunch of other crap. Thank god.
 
I hate army ops, no servers are ever below like 100 ping on cable, I hate the combat system in it too, its not fun, its like camp in a spot for a few hours till someone comes and get out and camp before them, I don't give a shit how realistic it is its lame. aside the voices are annoying on drill instructurs they sound like they were taken with a mic.
 
hmmm.... where do you live? I'm on a cable modem and I never get more than 50ping on my clan's offical server. I never get more than 120ping on a full 26 person official server.

Well, thats how they usally record sound.... I don't think they've come up with a way to record sound with an LCD screen....
 
hö yeah. it simulating real war, nobody cares about campers in real wars (in fact, campers in wars are usually the ones to come back and tell about it...). I think it to be quite funny, even if I like fast action fps more. Now with a medic, huh? thats really great!
 
Is everyone having serious problems connecting to servers? If i use the in-game browser, it shows quite a few servers. Pings are in the high hundreds, and when i connect it says my authentification was successful, but a few seconds later it will say it failed and to read some release note crap. I made a 1.9 filter for my ASE, and only two servers show up but wont let me connect at all. I happened to get on a server before, but it was terribly laggy. Im not too fond of the newfangled in-game interface either, it sucks.
 
Eh, the servers aren't offically up yet, try and find once in the froms, and open it via ip.

w00t, some official servers are now up. Damn miracle getting in one though.
 
Yeah, excellent. Now im getting 10-second-or-longer lag spikes, where the whole game just freezes up. Ugh, 1.9 is so damn buggy IMO.
 
pfficial servers are up? good. i was playin on friends server he set up. He was being an arse and decided to leave 4 instant messanger programs running at the same time. Lag spikes everywhere....


I htink the lag will decrease when all the servers come one line and stuff.
 
Alright now its all getting better. Is anyone using ASE??? I made a 1.9 filter and only 3 servers are showing up.
 
actually, get on #americasarmy on irc.homelan.com, and type /msg [JTF2]Zeus @servers (or soemthig like that) and a window will pop up with all the ips of working 1.9 servers.
