to coin a phrase CS:S is "exactly what it says on the tin" a great port and compared to CS in the pre steam days, where we had to wait months for a new patch/version - it bodes well on steam :)

I played this for 6 hours last night, all nighter - the game finished only as one of our players "had to leave to go to work!" at 5:30am, after we all lost track of time.

There are quite a few bugs, some old and unfortuantely some new but my god what a great game this is :)

Goodbye CounterStrike vanilla :)

oh! and full credit to valve/steam for the easy distribution - from getting home I had it bought and active within 10 minutes of starting steam! - shame my network card decided to play up at 6:50 till 7:30 though (what luck?!!?)

1.6 > cs:s , lets see what cpl use this winter ill bet 1 hundred million dollars its 1.6

Of course CPL would use 1.6.. It's a Counter-Strike tournament, not a Counter-Strike: Source tournament.. If they had a CS:S tournament, I'll bet you a trillion dollars they use CS:S and not CS 1.6..

ok Ill bet theyll still use 1.6 next summer how about that? p.s im sure theyll still call it a "counterstrike tournament" even if they changed. :p

CPL isn't a CS tournament, they have a variety of games from different genres...but CS is the game that tends to get the most attention and a lot of the awarded money.

cs source has a different feel to it and u need a much better pc. Also the general gaming public may not care for cs source as much as 1.6 cause it isnt very mainstream yet, of course it isnt gonna be used.

If anything the'll be a cs1.6 one and a cs source, bet u lots of pennies.

nah they wouldnt hold 2 cs tourneys theyd have to supply cash prizes for them both no way. They might hold exhibition matches on cs:s.

I completely agree!
It's a blast and I love the maps. Can't wait for more.

Office is probably my current favorite.

I just can not go back to plain CS 1.6.

It's practically the same as CS1.6, but it looks much nicer. Which is better for spectators. Give it 3-4 months for them to get used to the new engine and I bet they'll move over.

I was a bit unclear in my statement.. I figured it'd be implied that I was talking about the CS tournament, as opposed to UT2K4 or whatever else they'd be playing.. But, we're all on the same page  .. Unfortunately yours has a big 'F' on it.. ( couldn't resist the StrongBad quote)

I love CS:S. I can't go back to regular CS anymore either....well...maybe for maps like fun_allinone and such. I like messing around on those still.

I've seen people claim that the CS beta was the best. Folks always claim the previous version was better and the updates ruined the game.

bullshit.

Pong>All
Just as sensible as saying what you said. Please elaborate.

wtfc? Who cares what they use.........Are you in the tournament and you want it to be source so your mad? You don't have a credit card and unable to play source so your mad? You comp sucks and cant take source?

Dude my pc is 1.8p4 with a 4600ti directx8 cards and I get well over 50 fps on lowest settings and it still looks 100x better than cs 1.6 . God 1.6 is ugly. Who want's to run to work when you can drive. It will obviously take some time to switch. How many 1.5 server are there? Haha, not many . Same thing will happen to 1.6.

Source powns 1.6.

I played even THE BETA, went to play 1.6, quit after 2 minutes because, guess what, IT SUCKS compared to source.

my 2 pence :D
