Action Unreal Tournament is being released as a beta mod for UT2004 tomorrow evening. Many of you may have many fond memories of the Action series as it has appeared as a mod for Quake 2 and a mod for Half-Life.

Action Half-Life especially holds some fond memories for me and I'm looking forward to playing the latest version.
Action Unreal Tournament is a modification of Unreal Tournament 2004 that adds realistic weapons, better damage simulation, new gameplay, and bags of action-movie style.

Ever watched a John Woo flick and said 'I wish I could do that' as a guy dived down the stairs, akimbo pistols blazing?

Now you can. And why watch a movie when you can play it?

For those with a history of action games, AUT is the followup to the successful Action Quake2 and Action Half-Life; we hope to continue the tradition of fun gameplay, innovative features and consistent quality. It's based around concepts incorporated into the unreleased version developed for Unreal Tournament.

AUT is going to take the things we've learned from Action Quake 2, Action Half-Life and our development in the Unreal engine and combine them into one fast moving action packed extravaganza.
To be honest, I've bought UT2004 especially for this mod, I'm that excited :)

Read more information about it here.

UT2k4 is a great buy, huge mods out there and very fun game... :D
My copy should be in the post tomorrow, il check this mod out.

Sweet.. One more reason to buy UT2004. Damn, I've been thinking about buying it for a long time, guess I'll have to take the final step now. :D

I really liked Action Quake 2 and Action Half-Life, if there's anyone who knows how to do an amazing fast paced action mod, it's these guys. :)

I'm in the process of returning Unreal Tournament 2004.
Yes, I am crazy/retarded/uber-psycho.

Wow, they're finally releasing it?
Yep.

They're releasing it as beta 0.9 though rather than beta 1.0 to hit some sort of deadline.

If I know these guys' beta process, we're in for a long beta test before we get a final version, but it's always a load of fun :D

I can't remember if they're including dives and stunts in the first release though, but either way it'll be a fun game.

Unreal Tournament has restored my faith in online games. Its really good, and hopefully action UT will make it better. *shudders at the thought.

Awesome! I love frag ops ( the CS killer minus the cheaters and kids )

I loved Unreal Tournament(all of them) and especially Unreal Tournament 2004, but unfortunetly, my computer has an irritating problem that pisses me off when I'm playing Unreal Tournament 2004. It also happens in Quake II.
:frown:

oh jeez!! ;(

All these awsome mods are forcing me to spend my moneh on ut2004

First, no one cares.
Second, the size limit of signatures is four lines.
Third, did I already say no one cares? Yeah? Well... it bears repeating.

UT2k4 has definitely been one of my best game buys in recent times. I mean, the game itself is crammed with hundreds of maps, dozens of models, a plethora of gametypes and mods... and a seriously dedicated community that churns out quality maps and mods.
