I don't exactly have many, if any techno songs, so I'm just wondering, what're some good songs too start out on?

I hate techno (genre confusion..), but I like trance though, as of now I've been listening to Chicane and The Thrillseekers mostly, for some relaxing stuff yeah...

Probably the best overall house mix in the last while is James Holden's Balance 005. Everything else these days is just the same old. Hmm but Sasha's latest thing has also come out so I should check that out.

I don't listen to techno.

Oh, hi! I see you've confused the specific genre of 'techno' with the much broader classification of electronic/dance music!

The only people that listen to techno currently are Germans and Portugese.

I hate the term techno, it's outdated and it's way to broad.
Anyway, Blank & Jones and OceanLab FTW

Edit: the song posted above rocks, name+title plox

I would disagree. It's simply an ignorant term for electronic music. And it's not really broad - it's incredibly specific.

Eric Prydz - Pjanoo

It's not exactly trance but I ****ing love it.

I think about a year ago I tried to convince you (on msn) that there is good electronic music being made aside from all that night club/dance mumbo-jumbo that those hip hop'n teenagers listen to. It's called ambient, personally I'd reccomend any of Brian Eno's ambient albums aside from Music for Airports (I don't really like it, it's probably famous because it invented the genre), Aphex Twin's Selected Ambient Works Volume 2 (might take a while to get into), and anything by Boards of Canada.

It's called ambient,

... You mean some of it's called ambient? I'm pretty sure there's a lot of good electronic music out there that isn't all that night club/dance mumbo-jumbo that those hip hop'n teenagers listen to, and also isn't ambient.

But yeah, can't go wrong with Eno and Boards. Why not chuck in some Shadow, he's always good.

I knew someone was going to say that, I just couldn't be bothered changing my words. D:
