Adaptive AA available oon X800 cards.

Here's the link. Adaptive AA is ATI's version of the texture AA that the GeForce 7 cards use. It's mindblowing that this is available on the R420 using Cats 5.9 and a simple registry edit...Aparently it take a little out of performance though...

7800 cards have it and was an advertised feature. They are saying that X800 cards had this ability just never turned on.

Yes. You may need to restart after the using regedit.

How good does it work versus regular AA as far as looks and the performance hit? All the screenies I've seen have looked good, but does it run better than having regular AA on?

I believe a 10FPS hit was on 1 photo not sure exactly every benchmark.

i tried it on my x850xt and i got the purple squares on glass and wood in dod:s
but knowing me i mostlily didnt do it right

Slight performance hit from what i read, but not too bad
