adobe flash player

I need help.

whenever I go onto youtube, it says that I dont have the latest flash player installed, it gives me a link to install a better one but when I follow it, & try to,it dosent install; it comes with a thing on the top saying something about security or somehting, and then a box comes up asking me if I want to install it, so I click yes, then it takes me back to the instructions page where it has a small notice saying that it installed succesfully although there was no progress bar or anything. then I go back to youtube and it still says I dont have the flash player installed?

if anyone could help me it would be much appreciated.

Also, which version of IE/OS are you using?

I'm hoping that at the least you are using IE7 on Vista, or even better IE8 Beta 2.

IE is Internet Explorer, which you're using right now. OS is Operating System - Vista or XP probably.

It's better in many ways. Try it out and tell us what happens when you try to download flash.

it dosent work; whenever I try to open it the machine tells me tis loading for a split second, and then nothing happens? but it's really weird, on my sister's user youtube works and so does firefox but on mine neither of them do? which actually come to think of it is really weird cos whenever I start up if I go onto mine the internet connection dosent work, it does on my sister's? and even weirder, my computer is infectced with this fake antivirus program called XP antivirus (which I cant get rid of, help on that one would be apppreciated to) but on my sisters user, you guessed it, it dosent come up?(I dont think so anyway

that's ad blocker blocking a window that says you need to click "install activeX control" click yes THEN hit the install button

yes I told u thats what I do, but then when I click yes in the install thing it takes me to the instructions page exept it has a little box saying that it installed sucessfully, but when I go onto youtube it dosent work???

also you might want to try to close your browser while installing

no it just had the instructions page with a small box in the corner of the area with the text in it saying that I installed sucessfully

Edit: Ok guess what, problem solved everything's fine; I installed adobe shockwave player
very good.

Edit II:no im wrong, I tried to install shockwave and then it worked for one video I watched for some reason, now tis' back to normal.

Why not get a screen shot of this failed install as it happens?

Pressing the "Prt Scr" button (print screen) on your keyboard will take a snapshot of your computer screen. Then open Paint or another photo application and go to edit->PASTE. What was your desktop should pop up within Paint. Save the picture on your PC or desktop. Use the website IMAGESHACK or PHOTOBUCKET to get the picture online. The website will then give you a long link to use to view your picture online. Post that link here.
