Adrian Carmack sacked by id

that's Adrian Carmack and not John, they are not even related, the important thing is to keep John Carmack in "Da House" :D

Although the thread is titled "Adrian Carmack..."

I thought that was pretty clear.

I think Radiohead's aim was to pre-empt any misconceptions for those not paying attention.

Well, as long as id doesn't sell to Activision once this guy's gone, I don't think anything is more wrong than business as usual. He *did* own 41% of the company shares, so he wasn't just another guy working there. Perhaps there's more to the story ... maybe Adrian wanted to sell to Activision when the rest didn't, giving the others no other way to end the disagreement but to cut him out.

Adrian's sacked? Oh.

Does that mean John is the only one of the original founders left? Or is Willits still there?

Serves him right for sacking Paul Steed.

Just another chapter of the soap opera that is Id Software, I cant help but not care.

id software sucks anyway... just make the damn engines and stay out of making games, i say

Only by making games will you know what game makers need in an engine. Even though their games aren't revolutionary anymore, they still make engines which have the potential to be great.

It would be the same as if someone would make forum software, but never use the forums themselves...

One difference between Adrian and John Carmack, John drives a Ferrari.
He probably owns all of them.

I find their games to be very enjoyable, while they may just be engine tests... they're still enjoyable...
