After Episode 3

I bought my first computer back in 98? and bought Half Life that same month. I was hooked on gaming and Half Life. I waited for Half Life 2 to buy a new PC.
Im waiting for Half Life 3 to buy another new one.
Do you think it will take long from Episode 3 to get to Half-Life 3? My computer is so ancient already, I'm running out of coal to power the boiler.

It depends on if they focus on TF2 or L4D as much as they do now.

yeah there is gonna be a HL3....Gabe said in a interview that they always envisioned a trilogy story arc for the series with the episodes being part of the second arc with HL2.

I think it all depends on if valve has secretly been working on HL3. If not we are looking AT LEAST probably a 5-6year project.

You know when people plan to get a computer they usually plan to get it within the next year or two. When you plan to get it after 4 years, well... It's not really planning anything. It will take at least 4 years for HL3 to come out, so if you're going to get a new computer you might as well get one now.

No flamingdts my PC isnt dead. Just an old Alienware now using a walker. No need to send it to the old folks home yet. I'm was just bummed it wasn't DX10 so I couldn't buy (didnt want to buy) Crysis. If I couldn't see Crysis in its full DX10 glory I didn't want to play it.
bF2 is awesome and its mods but Im certain I wont need DX10 to see BF1943 in its full glory.
So I will wait for Half Life 3 or till my PC runs out of coal. I cant afford a new PC every year or two :/

Its so sad because i love duke nukem and the half life series and the fans are just so neglected. But at least there have been bits of info about duke even though its never going to release...ep3 has received none. I just at least want to know if its still being made.

Of course its still being made. Valve wouldn't dump a major franchise like Half-Life.

They're just taking their time with it making it awesome. \o/

I guess it makes sense if you invest a boat load of money bills into your computer every 6 years. Even so, a boat-load-of-money-bills computer from 2004 is gonna be slower than you average cell phone by the time HL 3 comes out. Hell by the time Episode 3 comes out it will be an antique.

On that note, I can't imagine Episode 3 taking too much longer. It's already passed the two year mark and is at least a year longer to make than Episode 2 did. I can only hope it means they're releasing it with as many goodies as Orange Box.
