AFTER HL2 Preload?

I was wondering what will Valve say/announce to the public after the Half Life 2 Preload? What could they announce next?

I cant think of any other reason for preloading, the game is only twice the size of CZ, and that preloaded a week in advance, what could it all mean !

That because its nearly 1.5gb (over the pipe) and because Steam gets raped when something's released for a good few hours/days Valve wants to slowly siphen out HL2 so that Steam doesn't look as crap as it can be.

Realistically speaking, there's nothing left to announce except that Half-Life 2 has gone gold along with a set-in-stone release date. How soon that announcement will come, however, is anybody's guess.

I bet they will preload monday, then a week or 2 will pass....then they will release a candidate to publisher....2 more weeks....gold....2 more weeks....then it will release and I won't see the light of day for 2 more weeks. :bounce:
