After this update *free ammo?*

Hey is it just me or dont you have to buy ammo any more? The weapon costs the same but it might be a soundoff to the new price system? Also theres bargain bid "stickers" in the buy menu.

I also wondered wether ammo replenishes Money, but I don't think so. You also couldn't figure out, cause your ammount of money always changes with a new round.

There's a fix for the 6-8 problem guys! Found on the Steampowered forums (Posted by WaLLy3K):

There's a easy quickfix for the buymenu, I'll run you through how to do it:

Download GCFScape.

Install GCFScape and shut down STEAM. Browse to your SteamApps folder and open counter-strike source shared.gcf.

You'll now be presented with the insides of what's inside the game cache.

Browse to root\cstrike\resource and grab cstrike_english.txt, or the cstrike_language of your choice. Copy this to your cstrike/resource directory which should be located inside the \~username\counter-strike source\cstrike\resource folder.

(You will most likely need to create the /resource folder, do so and chuck the file)

You now have the latest updated copy of that file. Open it up in notepad and find the following line:

Code:

"Cstrike_Equipment" "&6 EQUIPMENT"

Change it to the following:

Code:

"Cstrike_Equipment" "&8 EQUIPMENT"

Save and launch up STEAM/CSS, your buy menu may still say 6 there but the key to use to access it will be 8.

Enjoy the quick fix.

Thx, I was looking for it, but I think I don't need it anymore...I mean, I got used to it, also, changes in slots and stuff prevent me from getting too much reflexes into the game...You know, it keeps your grey cells working with having to rethink actions I usually executed without thinking

I'm thinking about doing one, but don't want to mess it up, if anybody would be willing to help, I'll happily send my original file

Basically this text file restores all the old 'proper' gun names to your buy menu. It's purely aesthetic, but I loved it. Obviously with the new buy menus, the text is slightly screwed up, as 7 and 8 no longer exist.

If anyone's interested in having a look, let me know.

Hmm, seems to be working OK, but the 'Bargain Of The Week' box is slightly corrupted. failing that, seems to be OK.

Less work than I thought it would be tbh. Feel free to use it if needs be. Simply download, unzip and store:

C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\[user name]\counter-strike source\cstrike\resource

I really don't see the big fuss with having to use fingers...I used to use a buy script, then I gotta off my lazy fingers and bought it manually... Not like it takes longer than the buy time on most servers.
