For the month of October, the guys working on the Half-Life 2 Modification, Age of Chivalry, have released quite a massive media update. Included in this update are some in-game screenshots of one of their featured maps as well as shots from player and weapon renders which are quite impressive:[br]

[br]That last image is part of their melee attack system which was created by their coder, Gnolfo.[br]Along with these screenshots comes a piece of music composed by Jeff Simmons which is actually the theme song for Age of Chivalry. The team is also looking for some new talent for this mod, be it a mapper, animator or prop modeler.[br]For more information and screenshots of Age of Chivalry, visit their site here.

Yay, yet another mod with the default HL2 Grass texture. ^_^"

Why redo something that's already pretty much perfectly done?

Because, in this case, the shots looks the same as every other boring terrain based map made for the Source engine. I'm sure they will have custom textures in the end though. Just something repetitive I've noticed.

Bah, grass was grass a thousand years ago too, although maybe a bit greener. Other than that, looking slick. It's oozing slickness, actually. Can't wait to play it. I suppose the Evil Knight doesn't look very medievaly, if they're shooting for a realistic depiction of the era, but then again, I'm no expert. Everyone loves spiky armour, so nothing wrong there...

They are doing alot of their own texture work, give them time.

Also there are more shots on their website.

my lord what kinda a tard do ya have to be to nit pick grass with those awsome screens

Catapult or trebuchet to be more precise looks like a load of fun :D

It really gets boring on the bigger open maps.;(Anyway the mod looks great.

Since Valandil is gone I'm hoping these guyz will forfill their (and mine) dreams.
They are convinced 1st-person melee can be done well. I sure hope they will succeed in that area.
