mmm it looks pretty although i dont like the sort of colonial technology basis, early guns, column formations etc... it should be pretty good

It looks like Rise of Legends will account for that. It's funny how AoM came out at roughly the same time as RoN. And now AoE 3 is coming out at the same time as RoL.

But I loved the whole real world mythology, isn't RoL based on fantasy? I know greek etc. mythology is also fantasy, but I liked playing a game based on ancient mythology

Yeah, I know what you mean. I was slightly dissapointed with AoM though. It didn't reach it's full potential until Titans.
