You can run it from an agp card, but same with a PCI-E card (and probably a few of the latest-generation PCI cards too).

I'm not really sure what you're asking, be more specific?

If you are asking if you need a graphics card to play the game, then yes if you want to get the full difference, if you don't mind about graphics then onboard graphics should work just not well. You really should word your question better it's really difficult to understand.

Pretty much.

The game runs at awful framerates with on-board gfx cards.

Depends on the onboard card, my laptop has great integrated graphics memory that runs Source games very well.

Thanks.. I have been experiencing some bad FPS, thought this was the problem.

Onboard graphics tend to not have a lot of horsepower to play graphics intensive games, they are just there to run the GUI of the OS and play Movie Files
