If you do anything in C or C++ or PHP or HTML or XHTML or ehhh pretty much anything.. download this now :)

http://notepad-plus.sourceforge.net/uk/about.php

The bumf is on the page but basicaly it rocks. Its notepad with a hint of class, i.e. syntax highlighting. I've used notepad from day one of web design but now i've just got to use this. Its so lightweight!

GET IT, GET IT NOW!

not bad. BlueJ for Java has a similar system. might be useful for my recent forays into the weird and wonderful world of xml :/

I like textpad a lot myself :)

its a purchase thing though :(

very nifty nonetheless

i'm lovin it so far, is it safe to replace this with the orginal notpad ?

I prefer HTMLKit for ALL HTML/coding needs...

I'll give it a go (when I get home) ...does anyone know if it will edit cgi? I've looked around the net but cant find any suitable apps that will edit cgi easily without being underpowered

EDIT:: Sorry, read that wrong. You were saying that "TextPad" is a purchase thing.

I would like to say yes but I personaly wouldn't ;)

Notepad is one of those things that should just be there incase everything goes tits up :)

If you mean DreamWeaver or something alike then I should slap you where you stand! :) Damit man, get into the nitty gritty and code like a pro! :D

Then you can "evolve" to VIM :D HAHAHAAH!!! (need to be a bit geeky to get that)

Cgi is in perl so yes it does

Anyone notticed the load time..... I didn't..... it's too fast ;)

Ach it does everything you could ever want! Someone please try and fault it, its more fun than pointing out its pros.

EDIT:: Sorry, I don't think i've used enough smilies in this post... :) OMG i've ran out of smily credits!
