i was just playing fine, and one day, none of my game list works! it just says connecting to masterserver, the only one i can get to work is steam, my ports arnt messed up, my bros works fine, whats goin on?

There is currently a few technical problems with Steam.

If you're after playing CS:Source then you can find people playing in the server: 82.136.36.7:27016

You may need to type "connect 82.136.36.7:27016" for it to work

I dont know if the update that was released an hour ago will fix the problem, but restarting the steam client and recieving the update won't hurt.

i dont think u understand me, things that needs to connect to things dont work at all, this isnt about steam, im saying steam works, but anything else doesnt, like call of duty, freelancer, adaware cant update, stuff that needs to connect to a server doesnt work

oh, well, not very easy for us to know. have you installed a firewall recently ? have you installed SP2 ?

no, no and no, i dont have any firewalls that interfier with this, everything worked before, and oneday, anything that needs to connect to a server, stop working, even anti adware programs,

Sorry mate. I can't help you. If I was sitting at your computer trying out different things I might find a fix, but doing this over the forum is not easy, especially since nothing like that has ever happened to me before .. Maybe you can search some other hardware forums on the internet.

A firewall problem was my guess, but since you haven't got any firewall activated I'm all out of advice. Again, I'm awfully sorry.

check your internet settings. make sure your settings are the same as your brother's settings. if you installed anything the day things stopped working, uninstall it. scan for viruses, spyware etc.

turn off all machines..unplug router...unplug modem (physically, i mean...pull the power from the wall).
plug in modem...wait for sync lights
plug in router...wait for WAN light.
reboot machines.
