Ahhhh I Wanna Play Source

One question, whens the next patch? Anyone know? Perhaps a fix for this fps lag? My 10 fps? The problem many people have. I havent played any source since the update like many people. Ive tried everything people suggest and anything i could think of. Nothing. Anyone tried reinstalling source? Perhaps that would fix it?
 
Counter Strike: Source came out in mid-November, right? So, for almost 3 months we havent seen any significant update - just some tweaks and 2 new maps (one, which is extremely small, and the other is only a remake). CS has such a huge fan base. Why doesn't Valve care to make any big updates, such as models and more maps? I really like the game but I feel its being forgotten. I hope they're just too busy making CS2.
 
It would be nice if theyd release a game, keep it nice n clean and up to date for at least a few years, not 5 months then start making a new game and neglecting this one
 
these bloody pathces are just to make the pirates' life worse.

u forgetting the bots? VALVe does care, but they must be working on something else...

wtf are you on about, valve has made an excellent show of updating the game.. its much much more than any other developer would do..

other developers would release the game complete.
 
the thing is, other developers DONT release complete games. Almost every game that comes out has to be patched, and having to download patches is extremely annoying, and can be very fiddly when you are several versions outdated (ie you buy the game a few months late) steam takes care of all this by autopatching, which imho is infinitely better.
 
What about HL2 and CS:S isn't complete? last check I haven't found anything in the game that is incomplete, and everything they are adding is new problems not seen in the testing.
 
console games are outdated graphically in no time, plus i hate their controllers. besides, their bugs are never fixed. steam just pwns the heck out of the standard setup

That's probably for HL2 - I doubt it all went to CS. It's hard to argue with many of you guys because you all love valve and are often too hesitant to point out its flaws or weaknesses. I love CS - to me, it's the best game ever! I haven't played any other game for so long. However, when Source came out, I expected valve to use their inginuity - which made HL2 so great - and take the world's #1 online game to a whole new level of excitement. They have fallen short of these expectations and although CS:S is great, it's still missing a lot of maps and models. Hopefully, they're too busy with CS2, which might breathe life into the game. This is just my opinion - I anticipated too much from CS:S but I couldn't have expected anything less from valve, who have consistently produced top-notch entertainment (except CZ, which is by Turtlerock). HL2 was released in complete status...duh!

as far as CSS goes- its a mod, keeps the updates flowing Valve
