AI Freeze?

I am at the beggining of the Black Mesa East chapter and am having a few problems. For those of you that don't remember this is where you walk into the room and the door closes and you meet a lady that is SUPPOSED to take you down to Dr. Eli's lab. Well when I get to the elevator part, the elevator doors open, I go in, and the lady just sits there. And sits there. 5 minutes, nothing. 10 minutes, nothing. So I ended up killing myself and doing it again, this is the sixth time it's done the same thing. Anyone know what's wrong?

Do you have a legit copy of HL2?

Are you using Steam to run the game currently?

If you have Steam , verify the game cache with it. If that doesn't solve it, reload the level. Some console commands might help too.

If you don't have it, then I may quote the fisherman from Lost Coast : "Well, I guess you got other places to be. Nice knowing ya!"

I've had that problem on the legit copy 10+ times in a row, but if you're using a pirated copy you're screwed (verifying didn't fix my problem, but I just changed the level anyway to get past it heh)
