airboat gun doesn't fire (+ boat crosshair problems)

i was one of the many players who left their airboats at the end of a level, thinking the ride is over, then realising i still need it, i spawned a new one by cheat. when i'm supposed to get the gun mounted i cannot fire...

i heard rumours that such a boat cannot be equipped with a gun? is there no way of spawning a boat with gun already enabled? i'm really not motivated to play it all again... :hmph:

also, this is not all: from the beginning when i had got the boat, the boat crosshair behaved very strangely. it jumped to random places at the shore (not on enemies, i play on medium) and was stuck there, then jumped to another random place. all the time while i was riding the boat. it didn't really matter back then but if it's the same with the gun mounted i won't hit any targets...

quite frustrated, i managed to bypass the helicopter i should shoot down with boat gun by simply riding right thru but it's no fun not being able to fire with the boat...

any help extremely appreciated...
 
the strange crosshair behaviour was already there before i spawned a new boat. it makes me suspect that something is fundamentally wrong. i'd hardly hit anyone with the crosshair jumping across the screen to random position on concrete walls where there are no enemies.
 
Actually I think I noticed a bit of jumping, I thought it was a form of auto aim or something. I don't really know what to suggest.
 
thanks anyway, i just continued playing and it works so far, i just have to get off the boat a lot. well, keeps me fit. :p

i also made an experiment by spawning a jeep - i had the suspicion the gun on it wouldn't work either but it did, so i guess i'll try and finish the canals this way...

as for the crosshair: it seems the crosshair on the boat doesn't move with the view - unlike the jeep?
