My mom called me from work today and asked me if would talk to one of her friends about an mp3 player he bought. He said he called the company and they said he needed to download a decoder for it. I had no idea what to tell him.I also asked if there were any cords for it and he said no. I think he needs a codec but where would you get one andhow would you get it onto the mp3 player when it has no cords?

hmmm... "where would you get one and how would you get it onto the mp3 player when it has no cords?" Thats what i'm thinking.....

I will Google a bit for you. See if i can find the answer.

When i was searching all i read was that the mp3 players come with a intergrated mp3 decoder.

i looked too but i found that maybe he has an mp3 recorder. But still, the company that made it thinks he needs a decoder? I hope that they know what theyre talkin about.

haha yeah. So his mp3 player doesn't work? And he got told he need to download a decoder for it?

yea, they said he could download one for free on the internet. not only has he not found one, but idk how he thought he would get it onto the player/recorder/thing

might be a jack somewhere of his phones or they might be wifi or something. tell him to look in his instruction manual for that info, then go to the website of the maker and look for any software, firmware or application updates for his product. download them and install em. see if any of that helps.
