Al Gore sued by founder of The Weather Channel.

Hell yeah, I say go for it. I would love to see this settled in court. Then maybe people will have a harder time disputing it.

But, but, Al Gore invented the Internet.

Right? Right?

The late Mark McCormack commented that he was uncomfortable with the US legal system, despite being trained as a US lawyer, as frivolous lawsuits were rampant. If a case is judged to be frivolous in other countries, the responsible party is ordered to pay costs as the lawsuit is dismissed.

Oh come on, the US is the mother of all frivolous lawsuits.

revoking the license of meteorologists that believe global warming can be explained by cyclical weather patterns and not human activity.

Ha, see? THIS IS WHAT ALEX JONES HAS BEEN TALKING ABOUT ALL THE TIME BUT ONLY NOW YOU FINALLY ARE BEING CONFRONTED WITH THE IDEA THAT THE "GLOBAL WARMING"-THING EXCEEDS MEANS OF PUBLIC REASONING AND SCIENCE!!

Gore: Please look, I'm trying to save you! Nobody else wants to protect you and your way of life, but I will! I have hope for a better tomorrow, for you! For all of us!

I don't see how there is any basis for this lawsuit. Gore's film is protected under free speech. He is making an argument and backing it up--like an essay or a lecture. I can make an argument that the earth is the center of the universe, put it on a DVD-R and sell it if I want to. It doesn't matter how outrageous it is, you can't sue me for it.
